This position will manage all works in piping layout, pipe routing, support design, stress analysis, PMS/VMS, MTO control, material requisitions, bid evaluation and 3D design model review.  This position will responsible for issue of all piping deliverable documents. Organize inputs and supervise for preparation general layout, equipment layout, key plans, support design, isometrics, material take offs, stress analysis, pipe material specifications and material requisitions. Objectives:
  • Is Responsible for providing Engineering Services within one or more BASF CAPEX projects or production sites in Asia/Pacific or other regions in the piping disciplines. He/She will be assigned to project teams on request.
Main Tasks:
  • Support the Project/Engineering Manager with regard to piping engineering issues.
  • Coordinate, manage, monitor & control all piping activities towards contractors
  • Coordinate within the Piping and other disciplines for all aspects of piping
  • Responsible for the execution and coordination of activities related to the design, engineering and procurement of Piping, including flexibility and stress analysis of piping systems, mechanical integrity and specification of piping components.
  • Responsible for the coordination of 3D Modelling, piping material management etc. activities.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to the Piping engineering team.
  • Establish and keep close contact to the related engineering discipline at BASF globally e.g. headquarter Germany (good English skills required).
  • Represent the owner interests in the project towards the EPs/Local Design Institute, Vendors, construction companies. Carry out technical and contractual supervision and guidance.
  • Establish local know-how in the Piping.
  • Check of Vendor Drawings for Mechanical Safety Devices and special piping items.
  • Supervise/Manage Quality, Cost and Schedule for piping discipline in the Project
  • Implementation of improvement measures
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree with major study in Process/Chemical engineering mandatory.- Master degree is an advantage
  • At least more than 6 years work experiences in piping area
  • Proficient command of spoken and written Chinese and English
  • Good knowledge in Piping, Equipment layout, material and design Codes (GB, HG, SH, ASTM, ASME, API, DIN/EN etc);
  • Good in relevant softwares/tools e.g. S3D, PDS or PDMS
  • Experienced with special software e.g. SPM, SPRD, CAESAR II preferable etc. will be an advantage.
