SENIOR Piping ENGINEER-EPS Consultants, Location: Kuala Lumpur

 

Responsibilities :

Ensure fulfillment of design, quality, constructability and functionality of the scope of supply and services according to the tender/project contractual requirements with the required safety, quality, schedule and cost.
-Strong knowledge of conceptual design and basic engineering for development of Piping layout & Support arrangement by considering Plot plan, General Arrangement drawings and various Mechanical and other disciplines inputs.
-Prepare various Piping documents for Client Approval and as for various permit regulatory approval.
-Familiar with coordination work with Civil &Structural, Mechanical, Instrumentation and Electrical interfacing with regards to layout and piping design.
-Review and co-ordinate Vendor Piping documents for interface checking.
-Develop piping layouts inside Buildings design like Turbine hall, Cooling water Pump house etc.
-Should be able to have skill of design reviews to avoid interference in Layout design.
-Coordinate with the project’s Lead Engineer to secure the timely issuance of project engineering documentation for the project.
-Ensure compliance of the company’s engineering processes, procedures, design rules and application of Information Systems/tools.
-Ensure that the design of the plant and equipment are in accordance to the applicable rules, regulations codes and standards and according to good engineering practice especially with regard to Environmental aspects and Health & Safety of Personal, Operators, Maintenance personnel and third parties.
-Support the site and Civil Designer queries with necessary drawings and documents.

Basic Qualification & Requirements:

-Possess a Masters/Degree in mechanical
-Minimum five (5) years working experience in power plant engineering or related industry.
-Conversant with International codes and standard (especially ASME 31.1, ASME, ASTM, etc.)
-Have strong “hands on” knowledge and experience preferably in the Combine cycle power plant and/or coal fired power plant.
-Having hand on experience on Auto Cad, PDMS, Navisworks and Ms Office.
-Excellent planning, organizing and priority setting skills.

 

Specific Layout and Piping Technical Requirements:

-Knowledge and experience in Combine cycle power plant and/or coal fired power plant.
-Review project documents including scope of work, project specification and drawing
-Hands on Experience on PDMS Design and Draft module.
-Preparation of Piping design calculation such as Pipe loading, Pipe sizing, Pipe thickness Pressure drop etc.
-Prepare Piping layouts, Piping isometrics, and support drawing, drawings for both Power Island and Balance of plant.
-Basic Knowledge on Piping stress analysis
-Design Platform for all the valves/instruments etc. required for access/maintenance using Auto CAD and PDMS.
-Preparation of Methodologies, schedules and piping material take-off exercise.
-Technical evaluation of piping Material from Suppliers and Vendors
-Supporting civil and site construction queries with necessary documentation
